Having Fun—and How To Get There
Not everyone can have a car, which is why there are free campus buses to take around campus and downtown. It's usually not too long a wait, and only on late weekend nights to they get all congested and rowdy. While we're on the subject of rowdiness...to escape the frat crowd on campus (we all need to once in a while), you could cruise on into one of numerous billiard halls or hookah bars that Denton has to offer. There is also a lot of live jazz in town. For a really wild night out, you've got to drive to Dallas—just please don’t drive back until the sober light of morning. Corny as it may seem, a good way to get acquainted with area would be to peruse the town's official homepage.

How is the nightlife in Denton?
As a city of about 120,000 people and home to University of North Texas, Denton, has its fair share of watering holes. One of the best places to get a drink in town is in the Fry Street area, which features a high concentration of bars. As long as it is not in a glass container, it is legal to consume alcohol on the street here until 2:30 am. In addition, the Arts and Jazz Fest takes place every spring in Denton, bringing over 200,000 people per year for live music, food, drink, crafts, and recreation at the Civic Center Park.
Is Denton pet friendly?
Denton is a very pet-friendly city. Denton is home to one off-leash dog park, Wiggly Field Dog Park, which is located at Lake Forest Park. No fees are required to enter this 3-acre area, but all dogs must have a license and rabies tag. There are several other parks in the city where residents can take their pets as long as they are kept on leash. In addition, nearby Lake Dallas offers many places for being outdoors with pets, as does Lake Ray Roberts to the north.
