I’m relocating to Houston for work. Can you give me some advice of what neighborhoods to live in?
If you prefer a more urban neighborhood, Downtown is great with its abundance of bars and restaurants. The apartments there can be pricey though. The Woodlands, Sugarland, and Pearland all have a pretty quick commute into the city and are more suburban. If you like being near water, Clear Lake is the neighborhood for you.

Is Houston a town where I'll need a car to get around?
Definitely. One of the most car-oriented large cities in America, nearly 90 percent of people drive their car alone to work each day. The Houston landscape, which consists of many highways, wide streets, and parking lots, does not lend itself well to walking as a viable way of navigating the city. In addition, Houston's public transportation consists only of the METRO, which operates bus lines, as well as the new and very popular light rail line called METRORail. METRORail light rail line that runs between downtown, midtown, the museum district, the Medical Center, Reliant Park, and the Fannin South Park and Ride.

Are there any quiet neighborhoods in Houston?
Yes, there are quite a few quiet neighborhoods in Houston. They include those that lie on the outskirts of town, such as Chateau Woods, as well as those that are closer to downtown Houstin, like the area to the west of the city center. These include Del Monte Dr / Kirby Dr, Shepherd Dr / Chilton Rd, Woodway Dr / Chimney Rock Rd, Ella Lee Ln / Kirby Dr, and Post Oak Ln / San Felipe St. Most of them primarily consist of single-family, medium-sized dwellings occupied by their owners, and they tend to be suburban in terms of population density, which may contribute to their tranquil nature.
