Ready for an Apartment near SJSU?

Do you know the way to San Jose State University? Burt Bacharach does, so why shouldn’t you?

The Way

Follow me, and I’ll show you the way to San Jose State University! The directions are simple: make a right turn at high school, stop to attend and get good grades, make a left at your stellar SJSU application, stop and write an excellent personal statement, then wait to receive your acceptance letter! Once you arrive at SJSU, think about what direction you want your life to take, and look at all the possible Colleges and Departments that will prepare you for a profession. SJSU is known for programs like engineering and computer science, and has academic advisors available to students of all majors. Besides their academics, SJSU creates a fun environment for players and spectators of sports. Spartans love to come out and watch a football game after a tailgating party, and those who want to play themselves but aren’t quite serious enough for the big leagues take part in intramural activities like Ultimate Frisbee or Judo.

A Place to Stay

As the aforementioned song suggests, San Jose is a place of beauty and attractions. Its diverse community makes all feel welcomed, and its close proximity to other big cities like San Francisco make its location ideal. The song says, “You can really breathe in San Jose. They’ve got a lot of space. There’ll be a place where I can stay.” There most certainly will be places you can stay in the city, which is why so many undergraduate students live off-campus after their freshman year. Most students appreciate having their independence and the responsibility of taking care of themselves. San Jose State is located downtown, however, so nearby apartments are not the cheapest. Check out our apartment search guides to learn the best ways to find a new place that is affordable, convenient, and right for you. Being farther from downtown will be easier on your wallet, so luckily VTA Transit is available to get you from point A to B.

A Place to Party

San Jose is a place to stay with places to stay, but also is place to party with places to party. Underage Spartans can check out the Greek scene and house parties, or throw their own apartment parties (free of booze, of course!). The 21+ crowd will find that this town is overflowing with bars and clubs. For a relaxed Thursday night, try the hookah bar, Zoulal, at 1191 Branham Ln. The Singlebarrel at 43 W San Salvador St. is great for beer lovers. Remember that San Francisco is just a drive away too, so there is never a shortage of things to do while at SJSU!
