Is Pensacola a town where I'll need a car to get around?
Probably. Driving is by far the best way to get around Pensacola. There are, however, bike lanes along most major roads in town; look for small lanes on the side of the road with a bicycle symbol painted on the asphalt. Pensacola is also served by ECAT, which provides public bus service to the town and surrounding areas. Due to budget cuts, the buses don't serve the entire city, and routes tend to take a long time, but service is mostly punctual. All ECAT buses have bike racks, but remember to tell the driver you need to retrieve it when disembarking.
