Are there big sporting events that people in Lancaster enjoy attending?
Lancaster isn't home to any major professional or collegiate sports teams. However, Lancaster residents can easily travel the 30 or so miles required to get to Columbus, located northwest of the city. Columbus has professional sports teams in hockey, soccer, and minor league baseball. The Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League play at Nationwide Arena. The Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer play at Columbus Crew Stadium. The Columbus Clippers, Triple A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, play at Huntington Park.

What does everyone in Lancaster do for fun in their spare time and on weekends?
Located close to many parks and forests, much of what is fun to do in Lancaster has to do with the outdoors. These areas include Perry State Forest to the east, Clear Creek Nature Preserve to the south, and Slate Run Metropolitan Park to the west. The largest in the vicinity, however, is Wayne National Forest, which offers over 300 miles of trails for hiking, all-terrain vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. For indoor pastimes, Lancaster is also home to various restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. For more options, some Lancaster residents choose to venture to nearby Columbus, located 40 minutes northwest of Lancaster, on the weekends.
