Will I need a car in Chandler?
Yes. Valley Metro provides public transportation to Chandler and the rest of the Greater Phoenix Metro Area. However, compared with other similarly sized Valley Metro cities, Chandler currently has very limited bus service. Although recent efforts to expand bus routes in order to reduce traffic congestion have increased the frequencies of routes 72, 96, and 156, many local routes either provide little service in town or end a few miles from the city. Some bus routes make connections to the light rail, which provides train service from Mesa Sycamore Transit Center to Tempe and Phoenix.
