California Baptist University is not only Baptist administered, but has integrated religion as part of the classroom experience, with weekly chapels for students and faith learning in the classroom. Engineering, Nursing, Behavioral Science and Arts and Sciences are major fields of study at Cal Baptist.

From Citrus to Sprawl

Citrus was the basis of industry at Riverside for a long time, with the nearby Santa Ana River providing the fuel for the extensive citrus orchards in the area. However, industry is now extremely diversified in the city, which is the fourth largest in California.

Riverside enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with dry, hot summers and wet, mild winters. It is home to the Fox Theater, which first showed Gone With The Wind, the world's largest paper cup, and the historic Mission Inn, among other things!

California is one of the nation's least walkable states, and the Riverside area is no exception. It is known as a smog belt, most likely because even near the center of the city, the metro area ranks only 49 out of 100 for walkability. If you can walk a little over half a mile, you are within reach of hardware stores, grocery stores, bookshops and drug stores. Over a mile walk is needed to get to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, movie theaters and clothing stores.

Riverside Neighborhoods for Students

It will be easy to get the neighborhoods closest to Cal Baptist confused when you first encounter them, as they all sound surprisingly similar. Arlanza, Arlington and Arlington Heights are the closest neighborhoods to Cal Baptist. Of these Arlington is slightly more affordable.

However, if you are going to bring a car to Cal Baptist there is no need to limit yourself to the immediate vicinity of school. Try neighborhoods like La Sierra, Mira Loma, and Ormand.

Cool California Apartments For Rent

California rents are notoriously expensive - you may want to consider one or more roommates ... at least one of which can share a bedroom with you! There is little in the way of housing for less than $700 per month, and a budget of $900 or more is needed to give you a good choice of apartment complexes.

I Wish They All Could Be California Clubs - Nightlife and Dining in Riverside

However few places there are to sleep, there are plenty to stay up until all hours at! The Auld Dubliner and Shooters Sport and Grill are right next to school and provide good clean fun.

You also have easy access to some of the best reviewed restaurants in Riverside at Cal Baptist - Sushi Asahi and Seoul Restaurant and Tofu House are right next door and not to be missed.
