Azusa Pacific University Off Campus Apartments

Azusa Pacific University Off Campus Apartments

Ready for an Apartment near APU?

Deep in the wilderness, the native California Azusa tribe gathered in secret to draw the plans for a great fortress that would be dubbed Azusa Pacific University!

The Azusa Tribe

There may have not actually been an Azusa tribe, but there certainly is an Azusa Pacific University where students are invited to share in faith and learning. At this Christian private school students have the opportunity to complete any one of 80 degree programs. People find that the tight and caring community at APU fosters an environment for learning and understanding, and puts “God First,” inside and outside of the classroom. In this way, the Azusa community is like a tribe full of pride (and Cougars)!

Apartments Second

Though God comes first, finding an off-campus apartment is a close second. Okay, so there are probably a lot of things that come before an apartment, but for the purposes of this article let’s just say off-campus apartments are an important consideration—finding a great, convenient, and affordable place to live really should be a top priority. Being in such a beautiful location also makes students excited to explore their off-campus options and look at places like the Modulars or the University Village, both within walking/biking distance of campus. Nabbing a place can be hard, however, because off-campus living is desirable but limited. Don’t wait to start looking, and use our apartment search guides for help learning how to find your ideal place!

Gorgeous Azusa

Azusa Pacific University not only has a gorgeous campus, but it is also in a gorgeous sunny location. It is right by the mountains, a short drive away from the beach and Los Angeles, and is full of local businesses, shops and restaurants. Azusa is a great place for hiking and enjoying a nice warm day, and on campus there are all kinds of student clubs, organizations, and IM sports to get involved in! If you are looking for museums, music venues, and quirky culture take a day trip down to LA!

  • What's the weather like in Azusa?

The weather in Azusa is remarkably pleasant year round. Summers are warm with average temperatures in the 70's, while winters bring cooler, yet comfortable temperatures dipping into the 50's. Annual rainfall for the area is about 24", which is lower than the national average, and occurs mostly in the wintertime. The delightful weather and low rainfall of the area allow residents of Azusa to take full advantage of the array of local parks nearby, including Pio Pico State Park, Chino Hills State Park, and Angeles National Forest.

  • I've got dogs. What are the best places in Azusa for being outdoors with pets?

Nearby San Dimas Canyon is home to the vast and well-maintained San Dimas Dog Park. This park features two fenced-in grassy areas, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs, as well as water fountains for dogs and their human counterparts, and convenient doggie waste stations. San Dimas is known for its friendly pet owners and even offers patrons the option to sign up to receive the park's very own newsletter. Garcia trail is another great spot to bring your pooch for some exercise outdoors. Hike along the two-mile trail alongside the edge of the mountain and enjoy the breathtaking views.

  • Why should I move to Azusa?

A city of about 45,000 people, Azusa is located in Los Angeles County. Azusa is located at the entrance to the San Gabriel Canyon (hence the city's nickname, The Canyon City) and on the east side of the San Gabriel River. Azusa's proximity to Angeles National Forest makes it a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, but it's still only 25 miles from Los Angeles. Azusa's climate, which features little rain and cold and a lot of sunshine, attracts many averse to the snow and freezing temperatures.

  • Is Azusa pet friendly?

Despite not being home to any off-leash dog parks, Azusa is fairly pet friendly. There are various parks in and around town where you can take your pets as long as they are kept on leash, including Northside Park and South Hills Park. San Dimas' nearly 2,000-acre Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park offers hiking trails, and San Dimas is also home to the San Dimas Dog Park, which is located in Horsethief Canyon Park. The largest pet-friendly open space around is Angeles National Forest, which is due north of Azusa.

  • What does everyone in Azusa do for fun in their spare time and on weekends?

Azusa is located just south of the Angeles National Forest, where many people enjoy hiking, camping, biking, and horseback riding in its thousand square miles of open space. The Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, located southeast of Azusa in San Dimas, is also a den of options for the area's residents. Its close to 2,000 acres offer the aforementioned opportunities, in addition to calf-roping, bird watching, golfing, fishing, and boating. In addition, it has spa facilities and a water park. For more metropolitan pastimes, Azusa is home to a few restaurants, bars, and movie theaters--but for more options, especially those regarding nightlife, LA lies about 30 minutes southwest of Azusa.
