I want a neighborhood with great nightlife. What's Woodlawn like?
Woodlawn centers around the University of Chicago campus, and like any college area, you'll find nightlife. Otherwise, it's mostly neighborhood bar type places many of which will have blues playing. For great nightlife, just take the train downtown!

How much can I expect to pay in heating bills this winter in a Chicago apartment?
You’ll find that many buildings include heat in the rent amount but if you opt for an apartment in an older building where heat isn’t included, the landlord by law has to provide approximate monthly costs to you. Neighborhoods like Lincoln Park or Lakeview, for instance, have charming older buildings where you’ll pay your own heat bill. Check the cost in advance, and know the gas company has a yearly averaging plan that is super convenient and makes it more affordable to stay toasty.
