What's the best bar near Dutchtown?
The unassuming Bleeding Deacon, located on Tower Grove South just two miles outside of Dutchtown, is a favorite local dive bar. This spot boasts 15 beers on tap, as well as 2-3 dozen bottles. The service is friendly, the prices low, and (even though it is considered to be a dive bar) it is remarkably clean. The food is delicious and unique to say the least. Locals praise the Bleeding Deacon's famed dessert "The Disgrace"- a bacon brownie smothered with vanilla-bacon ice cream and topped off with chocolate-covered bacon! They also serve up some one-of-a-kind tasty sandwiches, like the Plowman's Grilled Cheese- smoked mozzarella, apples, and honey; as well as several vegetarian options. The Bleeding Deacon also features a remarkable jukebox selection and menus made of recycled records. In the summertime, patrons can take advantage of the bar's comfortable backyard area.
