This building, which was originally constructed in 1926, underwent a total gut rehab in 1990 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. That means that Kilbourn Knoll is essentially a new building in the shell of the original masonry structure. The Kilbourn Knoll design won the highest honor given by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1990.<br><br>Kilbourn Knoll has only twelve apartments—4 per floor.
