  • how is the taxi cab service

There are at least 10 cab companies in Tucson that all seem to be pretty affordable. Cabs will pick you up for about $2.50 and charge you $2.00 for each additional mile.

  • how reliable is the public transit?

According to their website, Sun Tran is an award winning public tranportation system that services 20 million riders every year. We saw the map, which is here: http://suntran.com/pdf/Current%20System%20Map%20AUG%2010.pdf, and it looks pretty awesome. There are many routes all over Tucson and it looks like they serve the surrounding suburbs such as Marana and Oro Valley pretty well.
