    Today, UNC at Charlotte is ranked in the top ten universities in the entire nation, a school offering over 150 highly regarded degrees of various levels. UNC at Charlotte is renowned for turning out compassionate, cutting edge teachers, as well as stars in the research and engineering fields.

    Commuting

You'll find less expensive houses for rent closer to town, with apartments for $600 and above generally located 10 miles or more out of the center of Charlotte.

    Colorful and Cosmopolitan

    Charlotte bills itself as colorful and cosmopolitan, with the Southern tradition tempered by modern ways of life and a newly blended culture. Check out Double Door, one of the busiest and most popular bars in Charlotte, for an inexpensive night of live music and laughs away from your apartment- happy hour on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are usually packed.

    If the mix of Southern charm and modern eclecticism is what charms you about the city, try places like Lark and Key, displaying and selling a unique selection of quirky local art items and jewelry to decorate your housing with. Price's Chicken Coop has also been threatening Kentucky Fried in North Carolina for the best fried chicken title - although they do retain some small business oddities, with a cash only policy.
