  • Is Wyoming a good place for families?

    Based on safety and quality of education, Wyoming is a decent place for families. With a crime index of 26 out of 100, the crime rate in Wyoming is noticeably lower than the average when compared to other communities of similar population size. As far as education is concerned, the schools run the gamut. Currently the city is served by five school districts: Grandville Public Schools, Wyoming Public Schools, Kelloggsville Public Schools, Godwin Heights Public Schools, and Godfrey-Lee Public Schools. None of these districts have received very high marks as a whole, but some schools are better than others.

  • What kinds of job opportunities are available in Wyoming?

    With 36 percent of the workforce employed in blue-collar occupations, Wyoming is generally considered a blue-collar town. This is probably largely due to the fact that occupations involving physical labor dominate the local economy. For the most part, Wyoming is a city of sales and office workers, production and manufacturing workers, and professionals. The top ten industries in which Wyoming residents are employed include manufacturing (29 percent), retail (15 percent), healthcare (10 percent), construction (6 percent), wholesale (6 percent), accommodation (6 percent), education (5 percent), finance (4 percent), professional, scientific, and technical services (4 percent), and transportation (3 percent).
