Woodland Hills, California

Woodland Hills is located in the southwestern portion of the San Fernando Valley and is considered a suburb of Los Angeles. It's population of 67,000 enjoys a city with great views, a high quality lifestyle and is a major transit hub. As with most Southern California cities, it is car oriented and if you opt for one of the large high rise buildings for your Woodland Hills apartment, do check out the parking situation.

Everywhere a Tree

Woodland Hills received its name due to a large number of trees planted by one of its original developers, and consequently, the city enjoys these old trees now. The Valley Cultural Center is a great resource for cultural events and classes, and you'll find a number of good art galleries sprinkled around the city too. The outdoor enthusiast will find any number of venues for biking, running, and hiking, and the weekly outdoors farmer's market is not only a great place to find local produce, but it is quite the social event as well. Once in your Woodland Hills apartment, you'll certainly want to check it out whether you cook or not!

Fantastic French

Brandywine is one of the first restaurants you'll want to try in Woodland Hills. It's French and its fantastic but don't eat all day before you go there! Giovanni's is excellent for Italian food and has a nice atmosphere. For faster meals, Dan's Super Subs is ranked one of the best restaurants in the country even if the sandwiches are to go.The Rib Ranch, El Tapatio and Akari Sushi are also highly ranked by locals. Of course, you'll find your own favorites once you get settled into your Woodland Hills apartment, but these are all excellent starters.

Rack'em Up

At night, head out to places like the Pickwick Pub or the White Harte to get both the feel for local music and the clientele. If you like it loud and you also like pool, The Rack is always lively. For calmer evenings, try the Taboo Lounge. There's a cover charge, but it is fun and low key. Your Woodland Hills apartment won't be far from any number of neighborhood bars, and finding your favorite will be half the fun.
