Whitehall's History a

Though native people occupied this land for centuries before the area became known as Whitehall, the city's current incarnation began in the 19th century, when a stagecoach stop named Ye Olde Whitehall Tavern was built on privately-owned land. Though the tavern eventually shut down, the name stuck, and the area was known as Whitehall well before the city was first incorporated as a village in 1947. Thanks to its proximity to Columbus, Whitehall grew rapidly with the mid-1900s suburb boom, laying the foundation for the modern city its residents know and love today.

John Bishop Memorial

One of the many ways to enjoy the outdoors in Whitehall is to go to the city's John Bishop Memorial Park. This public facility offers idyllic wooded space for family fun. Kids will love the park's playground, while adults and kids alike can enjoy the sports field at John Bishop Memorial Park. Park visitors rave about their experiences here, mentioning that this is a great spot to play kickball in Whitehall. You can play pickup-style games here, but you can also rent parts of the park through the city, making it a good location for outdoor gatherings.
