This is one of the oldest children’s museums in the United States and has lots of hands on, educational fun. Other family friendly spots in Utica include the Utica Zoo and the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. 

If you're looking for a little arts and culture, there are plenty of places to visit in Utica. You can contemplate art at the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute Museum of Art, see a play at the Stanley Theater, or listen to the tunes of the Utica Symphony Orchestra. History buffs can start their time traveling trek by visiting the Oneida County Historical Society Museum. The museum has a growing collection of artifacts, photos, and books from way back in the day. The society was founded in 1876, making it one of the oldest in the nation.

Ready for some fun times? Utica rocks out with some seriously awesome annual events. Don’t miss the Utica Music and Arts Fest, which is a three-day musical, artistic, extravaganza! Other fun annual festivals include the Greens Fest, the Wine and Chocolate Festival, and a number of Italian Festivals.

The F.X. Matt Brewing Company is one of the oldest family owned breweries in the Unites States. These guys have been brewing since 1853; they must know how to do it right! Take a tour of the brewery, enjoy Saranac Thursdays, or check out the summer concert series for plenty of live music and beer. Sounds like a rocking good time!
