Walnut Woods State Pa

You can find Walnut Woods State Park sitting right on the Raccoon River just south of Urbandale. Walnut Woods is a popular spot. This is of little surprise: The park has a scenic view of beautiful Blue Heron Lake, plenty of lawn on which to have a picnic or play, and even its own softball diamond. A part of the park that people really enjoy is the lodge, which is a lakeside building of limestone and rough lumber. It is popular for weddings, family events, and meetings. There are also campsites available within the park, showing that there is something for everyone at Walnut Woods.

Urbandale's Schools

Every family has access to a good education in Urbandale, where both public and private schools are up to the task of providing an excellent learning. Urbandale has two private schools, Des Moines Christian and St. Pius X Catholic as well as five public high schools. Under the purview of the Urbandale Community School District, the public schools in town offer a wide range of classes to their students, maintain an almost 100 percent graduation rate, and have received multiple First in Nation Awards. Urbandale's schools are also strongly tied into the community, so students get support from all around.
