Check out the Turlock Lake State Recreation area along the Tolumne River for fishing, boating, swimming, waterskiing, camping, hiking, and even blackberry picking. Golfers can get onto the greens at courses such as the Turlock Golf and Country Club and Stevinson Ranch Course. Turlock is also just two hours from the famously gorgeous, Yosemite National Park. If you're into live theater, be sure to check out the Turlock Community Theatre. You’ll see a great variety of shows and performances here, ranging from Penn and Teller to Jackson Browne to musical revues such as In the Mood. You can also take in some great performances at the local university, California State University at Stanislaus. Whether or not you're furthering your education, you'll want to visit the college to take in theatrical productions, concerts, sporting events, and art gallery exhibits. This school is an incredible asset to the community.

Downtown Turlock is a historical district with plenty of unique shops, cafés, and boutiques. You can get a taste of what this town was like back in the day by visiting the Turlock Historical Museum.
