Thornton is a planned community which lies seven miles north of Denver, and has a population of 117,000. Originally sleepy farmland, the city is a smart and recent addition to the Denver area. It was established in 1954 with forward thinking plans such as a single tax that covered everything from parks to garbage pickup. Today, it is highly desirable area for both commuters and for business who located in Thornton.Although extensive public transportation links to Denver are planned for the future, life in Thornton requires a car. What neighborhoods in Thornton are good for eating out?
The Northglen area off Thornton Parkway has a nice concentration of good restaurants. Some of the really good chains are out there along with a number of ethnic places. Otherwise, all along I25, there are loads of places to select from.

How is the nightlife in Thornton?
Located 9 miles north of downtown Denver, Thornton has a diverse community with a strong commitment to quality of life and environmental issues. Without a real downtown, however, more nightlife options will be found in Denver. Still, some bars can be found scattered throughout Thornton. The Village Pub, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar, and Extra Point Sports Bar fall within the city limits.
