The Rosecroft Raceway

During its heyday in the 1950s, the Rosecroft Raceway saw a daily attendance of over 7,000 horse racing fans, making Temple Hills a major cultural center for the area. Since then attendance has declined a bit, but the race track is still an attraction that is a point of local pride in Temple Hills. The races that happen at the track are called harness races, in which the jockey rides in a small two wheeled cart drawn behind the horse rather than riding on the horse's back as in other popular horse races. It is a great show, and nobody should miss the chance to come down to Rosecroft and place a bet or two.

Jumbo Food Internatio

For someone who has never been to the Jumbo Food International Supermarket in Temple Hills it might seem strange to be excited about a grocery store. It only takes one trip to Jumbo Food to figure out why residents of Temple Hills love it as much as they do. The store specializes in Asian goods, which just cannot be found at most grocery stores, but also features other international foods such as Latin-centric cuisine, as well as Caribbean and Middle Eastern foods to name just a few. Additionally, many locals come to Jumbo for the reasonably-priced fresh fish and live blue crab for sale.
