Temple City Library
The Temple City Library is a beautiful place where you will enjoy spending an afternoon. The 12,182-square foot building is home to an extensive book collection along with archives and other materials. A family place is also located inside the library so the little ones have a place of their own. The most unique aspect of this facility is the mural that adorns the outer wall. Painted by Temple City students, the painting is over eight feet tall and 28 feet wide. This mural depicts the culture and community spirit of this charming city.
The Beautiful Outdoor
Enjoy some fresh air and outdoor time at one of Temple City’s parks. Live Oak Park is home to a large children’s area which includes several pieces of play equipment. Fitness equipment, picnic shelters, athletic fields, and basketball courts are also located within the park grounds. Temple City Park contains a large pavilion and lots of open grassy areas. Many events are held at this park’s pavilion including Concerts in the Park and Lights on Temple City. You can also take advantage of the on location restrooms and picnic areas while visiting this beautiful park.
To truly experience the full culture and community spirit of Temple City, be sure to attend the annual Camellia Festival. This festival first took place in 1944 and was designed to recognize family life and belonging. Held the last weekend in February, the event begins with a large parade in which all the floats are built by the youth in the city. A carnival can also be enjoyed along with games, food, and crafts. Local musicians, performers, and aspiring artists are on hand for entertainment, which will make your visit complete. At this fun festival, there is something for everyone's tastes.
