Taunton Worship

Finding a church or religious group that suits your need is possible in Taunton since it is home to a wide array of religions. A large number of churches are located within the city, including the First Parish Church located at Church Green. The church was founded in 1637 and was constructed before the town was even incorporated. The Pilgrim Congregational Church was first opened in 1821 and continues to host a large congregation. One of the city’s oldest churches is St. Mary’s Church, which is still in operation. Houses of worship for non-Christian religions can be found in Taunton as well.

The Green

Also known as the city’s square, “The Green” was originally used as a training place for the American Revolutionary soldiers. Beginning many years ago however, the area has been transformed into a Christmas wonderland in order for you to join in on the community spirit during the holidays. The grand display of lights and scenes transform the square and helped Taunton earn the nickname “Christmas City.” A wide variety of events for you to enjoy also take place including live music, visits from Santa, and delicious food. Other holiday happenings can also be found throughout the year.
