The Institute for the

One of the more unique notable places located in Talladega has nothing to do with sports and racing, and everything to do with higher education. The Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind is a prestigious school that serves more than 12,500 residents from all 67 counties in the state. They make it their goal to teach anything and everything a regular school might teach, but with creative ways that help blind and deaf students absorb the lessons more readily. Many notable educators and musicians were produced right here in the heart of Talladega because of it.
