Fish and Play

Outdoor activities can be found all throughout Stroudsburg with its many parks and recreational areas. Stroudsburg Borough Park is a large facility that contains a playground, pool, and picnic areas. The pool comes equipped with slides, a dive tank, and a bathhouse. If you want to relax and reel in your biggest catch, you can also fish at this park. Helen Amhurst Third Street Park is home to basketball courts, a large play area, and a sand volleyball court. Another great fishing spot is at Glen Park, which borders Brodhead Creek.

Stroud Mansion

The Monroe County Historical Association is dedicated to preserving the history and cultural roots of Stroudsburg. Located in the Stroud Mansion, built in 1795, the center is open the public and features a large collection of exhibits and artifacts relating to local history. Some of the exhibits are permanent, while others are changed throughout the year to provide you with a new experience each time you visit. The Elizabeth D. Walters Library is also located in the mansion and is full of fascinating information. Tours, activities, and educational programs take place on a scheduled basis at the Stroud Mansion.
