Living in Stanton
The land that is now Stanton was largely used for farming and ranching until 1906 when tracks were laid for a north-south railway that led into Los Angeles. The railway caused a housing boom and the city was incorporated in 1956. Today, the different neighborhoods give you a range of apartment living options to choose from. Whether you're looking for a place next to a major thoroughfare or off the beaten path, there is sure to be an apartment where you and your family will be able to enjoy this great city.
The city is renovating and rejuvenating its parks and open spaces, upgrading existing parks, and opening new ones. There are numerous parks throughout the city giving you plenty of places to play a game of baseball, walk the dog, or just enjoy the outdoors. Though this is largely a commuter city, there are lots of jobs available. The waste disposal company CR&R is the leading employer, followed closely by retailers Sam's Club and The Home Depot, and the theme park Adventure City. Katella Avenue is the main drag and that's where you'll find some the area's best restaurants, shops, and clubs.
A Great Place for Kids
Stanton is home of Adventure City, a theme park with rides and attractions geared toward families with young children. The city also features several seasonal festivals that are hugely popular with families. Summerfest has all the traditional summertime rides, games, and food. The Halloween Fair is safe fun for families and has games, costume contests, and lots and lots of candy. Christmas in the City, or Snow Day as it's sometimes called, is a favorite among kids. Winter lows are usually around 45 degrees, making snow a rarity. But on snow day, tons of man-made snow are brought in for snowmen, snow angels, and sledding. Elementary through high school education is provided by four local public school districts and sports, which can be enjoyed with the city leagues or through high school athletics, are a staple for area youths.
Close to the Big City
While the modest population of 38,000 may seem small, it is a part of the larger metropolitan Los Angeles area which boasts 15.3 million people. Living in Stanton gives you all the benefits of life in the big city and there's quick access to numerous area freeways, including I-5, which runs straight through downtown Los Angeles.
