Spanaway Park

Enjoy the great outdoors at Spanaway Park. This park offers more than 130 acres of beautiful space ready to be used for a myriad of recreational activities. You can swim, boat, and fish in the lake as well as rent a canoe or a paddleboat. The park also features playground equipment, softball fields, basketball courts, and walking trails. Spanaway Park is a great place to plan a company outing or to host the next child’s birthday party. During the holidays, the park is illuminated with the Fantasy Lights Walk, the largest display of holiday lights you can drive through in the region.

Prairie House Museum

Take a step back through history as you enter the Prairie House Museum. Hosted by the Spanaway Historical Society, this museum is restored from a 1890s gable and wing farmhouse. It boasts furnishings that are appropriate to its period as well as offering exhibits that change throughout the year on the topic of local history. There are also several outbuildings on the prairie farm. When taking a visit through the museum, do not forget to stop through their gift shop, which offers books on local history as well as other gifts. The museum hosts events throughout the year as well.

Samurai’s Japanese St

Get a taste of another country at Samurai’s Japanese Steakhouse. Even if you have never been, eating here will make you feel like you have just been transported across the Pacific Ocean into a Tokyo restaurant. Locals consider this restaurant the best in the area, being the go-to place for date nights, birthdays, and special occasions. The restaurant features a hibachi chef who performs a show as he or she cooks your meal in front of you. The guests always leave entertained, with full bellies and the satisfaction of pleasant night out. Choose from a variety of meat combinations as well as a vegetarian option.
