If golf is your game, you’ll have no trouble finding courses in the area. There are plenty. McHattie Park is a very popular park amongst residents all year long. The park provides places to play, skate, sled, picnic, and more. This is also the home of the Witch’s Hat. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Care to learn more? Of course you do. Read on.
Ready for some historical fun in an awesomely shaped building? Yes, the Witch’s Hat Depot Museum and Historic Village is a classic image of South Lyon. The cool looking building is a sort of logo for the town. You’ll see it plastered all over any website relating to the town. You can’t blame ‘em, really. The museum is run by the South Lyon Historical Society. That’s right, history buffs. You want to get in on this. Check out some train history and trek through the historic village. You’ll see the Washburn School, the Little Village Chapel, and the Gazebo. This is a cool place to hang and take a little jaunt back in time to imagine what the city was like back in the day.
The Salem-South Lyon District Library is an excellent local resource for residents. Just as a library should be, right? They provide folks with plenty to learn, do, and see. They are host to special events and programs out the whazoo, including things like writer’s groups, move nights, craft workshops, story times, and more.

A Special Place All Year Through
There are some great special events and things going on throughout the year. You’ll enjoy things like Farmers’ Markets, Film Festivals, Cool Yule, a Garden Walk, Depot Days, and (bargain alert) free Concerts in the Park! But hear this: you must move into your new apartment in before October. Seriously. You don’t want to miss (cue some big, suspenseful music) the Pumpkinfest!
