In a town as cute and scenic as Scotia, it is a great place to throw an outdoor festival. Every year, locals and tourists alike take advantage of this fact by putting on their own version of Oktoberfest right in the heart of the village. All of your typical fair games and food are on display and, of course, delicious German beer is one of the highlights for this fair. They also have a popular classic car show as well as live music and dancing in the main tent. It is kid friendly, so do not worry about leaving the little ones at home.

Music in the Park

Each summer, when the weather gets hot, and the days get long, the whole town shows up at Freedom Park with lawn chairs, blankets, coolers, and more, to enjoy some local tunes and let the evening sun slip over the horizon. The Hot at Freedom Park summer music series is a free event for the public and has great bands come through every year and play some relaxed and foot stomping music for all to enjoy. It is a great way to get out, enjoy the weather, mingle with your neighbors, and have some delicious food and drinks while being entertained.

Fitness First

This is a very fit and active town due to access to nearby parks and running trails. The weather is perfect for long-distance running, and there are also tons of avid cyclists that gear up and take 50-mile rides on the weekend with groups of friends. Most people take to the outdoors when getting in their usual workouts, but there is also a gym nearby if you want to lift weights and use their equipment. The best way to go is to get out in nature though and soak up the natural beauty as you work on your form.
