Schofield for Scho'
If you’re hoping to find an apartment in a quiet, close-knit town, surrounded by beautiful prairies, forests, and lakes, and set far away from the busy city streets and flashing neon lights of the big city, Schofield, Wisconsin may be the city for you. There are just over 2,000 people who currently live in this small town, making it easy for newcomers to feel like they are an important part of their new village. Schofield may be a quiet town, but it isn’t miles away from everything; there are a number of other small towns and cities in the area that, together, boost the population of the area into the tens of thousands. For fun, the people of Schofield like to get together to watch a football game, fish in the large lake that spans the western side of town, or meet friends and neighbors for a dinner party.
The Spartan Influence
It may be a bit of a drive for renters from Schofield to catch a professional football game over in Green Bay, but that doesn’t mean they have to resign themselves to a life of cheering on the home team through a big screen TV. The nearby town of Weston is the home of the NEFL team, the Central Wisconsin Spartans. Renters can drive a few minutes to cheer on the players in person and have a few drinks and a casual bite to eat. If you have a history of playing or coaching the sport, it may also be possible to get on the team. The Spartans frequently recruit townspeople with football experience to help or play. Big fans of the sport can also get involved by volunteering in a variety of different ways. What better way to get to know the neighbors and to make friends with some of Central Wisconsin’s biggest celebrities? Of course, huge Packers fans can always drive the hour and a half into Green Bay to catch a game.
Getting out of Town
One of the perks of living in Central Wisconsin is that apartment renters won’t feel packed in like sardines. In town, there are four city parks with playgrounds, fishing spots, sandy beaches, and sports fields. There is also an aquatic center to help renters cool off on hot summer afternoons. Just out of town, renters can visit some of the large state and county parks, including Sunnyvale County Park, Rib Mountain State Park and Nicolet National Forest. Renters who are into hiking, camping, hunting and cross country skiing, once the snow begins to fall, can visit these parks whenever the busy streets of the small town of Schofield get to be too much for them.
The Quiet Side of Life
Renters who move to Schofield will find that the pace of life here is a bit slower that what they’d find in other parts of the country. The people who call this town home like to get together with friends and neighbors for a good time but there aren’t any wild, crazy parties going on until all hours of the night—and that’s just the way that the people of Schofield like it. A couple of restaurants and bars in town give renters a place to go out, but people who live here tend to get together at one friend or another’s apartment. Newcomers should be sure to host a housewarming party when they first move into town.

How is the public transportation system in Schofield?
Not great. Schofield has a population of just a little over 2,000. And, as is often the case in a small town, Schofield doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute. Walking or biking places is sometimes possible, but, given the hot summers and cold winters, can be unpleasant. Therefore, most Schofield residents use cars to get from one place to another.
