How is the public transportation system in Schaumburg?
Schaumburg offers its residents an easy commute to Chicago via the Metra Train System, which operates, between Elgin and Chicago's Union Station. Schaumburg is on Metra's Milwaukee District West Line with three stops in the area at Springingsuth Road, Irving Park Road, and Northwest Highway. PACE's bus route 602 also serves the area, as well as the Woodfield Trolley, which brings passengers to and from the local Woodfield Mall.

The Schaumburg Flyers are Schaumburg's professional Northern League baseball team, playing their home games at Alexian Field, located near the Elgin O'Hare Expressway. Perhaps notable, in 2009 the Flyers hosted Battle of the Sexes II where they were pitted against the female professional softball national champions. This event brought a crowd of 9,000 spectators as well as 20 media outlets and goes down in sports history as one of the most successful and innovative special events ever orchestrated!
