How is the nightlife in Savage?
As a city of over 26,000 people and a suburb of Minneapolis, Savage has its fair share of watering holes. Perhaps the greatest concentrations of bars lies in downtown Savage, with options like Niesen Brothers Sports Bar, The Savage Depot, Buffalo Tap. Farther down 13 to the west is Tin Shed Tavern. To the south more bars line County Rd 42.
Is the cost of living in Savage higher relative to surrounding areas or other cities?
Compared to the rest of the country, the cost of living in Savage is 9 percent higher than the US average. Edina to the north is 23 percent more expensive than Savage, but Bloomington to the northeast is 8 percent cheaper than Savage. Burnsville to the east and Apple Valley to the southeast are both 6 percent cheaper than Savage. Lakeville to the south, however, is 6 percent more expensive than Savage. Prior Lake to the southwest is 3 percent more expensive than Savage, Shakopee to the west is 12 percent cheaper than Savage, and Eden Prairie to the northwest is 6 percent more expensive than Savage. The cost of living in Savage, therefore, is higher relative to some surrounding towns, but not all.
Are there any quiet neighborhoods in Savage?
Yes. One of Savage's quieter neighborhoods is Route 13 / Cty Hwy 101. Primarily composed of medium-sized homes inhabited by single families, this neighborhood is suburban in terms of population density and occupied mostly by its owners. The fact that it borders the Auto Club Park to the north and the Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve to the south certainly contributes to this neighborhood's tranquil nature. Being a more densely populated area, the City Center is a bit noisier.
