Is Santee famous for any kind of restaurant or food in particular? What's the local favorite?
Santee isn't known for any one restaurant or food. Like any near-coastal town in Southern California, the culinary scene in San Clemente is comprised of a mix of many different cuisines, many of which showcase California's fresh local produce. This includes, but is not limited to, seafood, based on the proximity to the ocean, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and many more. Although Santee has its fair share of fast food chains, there are a few decent independently owned restaurants in town as well. Emma's Mexican Food serves the San Diego area's California burrito while carne asada fries can be found at Cotija's.
