Take Shadow Hill Park for instance. With a basketball court, tennis, court, trail system, and more, this park is a recreational dream. Make friends with a local in a fitness class or beat your next-door neighbor in an indoor soccer league game at Sportsplex USA. Whatever your recreational interests, you’ll be able to pursue them in this very active city. At the very least, you’ll stop confusing your dog’s barking for actual conversation.
Has your social life lately consisted of arranging for pickup of your life-size Darth Vader statue with the moving company? You’ll have your chance at the Santee Holiday Lighting Celebration. With live music, cookie decorating, ice skating, carriage rides, and more, this event has something for everyone, Star Wars fan or devoted Trekkie. Rent one of these great apartments and get to know a wonderful community. Just don’t freak if Vader’s lightsaber is lost during the move.

Is Santee famous for any kind of restaurant or food in particular? What's the local favorite?
Santee isn't known for any one restaurant or food. Like any near-coastal town in Southern California, the culinary scene in San Clemente is comprised of a mix of many different cuisines, many of which showcase California's fresh local produce. This includes, but is not limited to, seafood, based on the proximity to the ocean, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and many more. Although Santee has its fair share of fast food chains, there are a few decent independently owned restaurants in town as well. Emma's Mexican Food serves the San Diego area's California burrito while carne asada fries can be found at Cotija's.
