California Institute of the Arts

<p>The California Institute of the Arts, usually shortened to CalArts by the locals, is known as the Cal Tech of the Arts. The institution is renowned for its professors and the talent of its students. As of 2012, the school had about 1,500 students, each of which who study in some form of visual, performing, or literary arts. The school is unique in its learning environment it allows students to develop art in the school's studios that the students retain ownership and copy right license over, which makes studying at CalArts a very attractive proposition.</p>

Golden Oak Ranch

<p>The Golden Oak Ranch is a movie ranch that was bought by Walt Disney in the late 1950s for $300,000. Today, the ranch is over 890 acres, and is the location of shoots for various Disney films done by The Walt Disney Studios. Popular films and television shows such as Mad Men, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mickey Mouse Club, Old Yeller, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Treasure of Matecumbe all had scenes filmed at the Golden Oak Ranch. The ranch is continually expanding and redeveloping, and earlier in 2013 the studio announced that they would be adding new sound stages and production offices to the property.</p>
