Looking for Santa Barbara, California Rental Rates?

Spike your hair and tune in to KJEE for the best in modern rock, because really, what’s better than good tunes when you’re moving in and unpacking the goods? Of course you could always find a roommate and talk about your former wild roomies at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Or locate a second roommate and spend an afternoon showing off your surfing skills (or lack thereof) at Leadbetter Beach. The American Riviera

Want to enjoy the beauty and gorgeous weather of the French Riviera, but don’t have the patience to learn a new language? Rent one of Santa Barbara’s fine apartments and bask in coastal beauty without looking like a culturally inept tourist. Santa Barbara is often referred to as the “American Rivera” for its stunning coastline and weather. Whether you’re here to enjoy the city’s beauty or you just want access to good burritos, you’ll find what you need in this charming city. Should you need someone to help build that “easy as 1-2-3” DIY entertainment center, or give you directions to the nearest Mexican restaurant, you’re sure to find a local willing to help, and possibly chow down with you too. The city boasted a population of 88,410 colorful residents as of the 2010 census. Find out what it’s like to live in “The 805” and rent an apartment in this lovely city.

Cultural Events

This is a peaceful city. If you’re familiar with California history, however, you’ll know that the city wasn’t always so serene. During the Gold Rush, bandits and outlaws ruled the town. While today the city is free from regular shootouts at high noon, you’ll find its citizens still know how to have a wild time. Take the Santa Barbara French Festival for instance. The largest French festival on the West Coast, the Santa Barbara French Festival offers something fun for everyone, whether you’ve got French ancestry or you wouldn’t know a crepe from a cravat. Enjoy French food, dance, music, and more while getting to know your new neighbors. While you’re on a cultural kick, why not attend the Old Spanish Days festival and celebrate the city’s Spanish heritage? Enjoy flamenco music, sip on a margarita, purchase beautiful crafts, and take in a parade. Make the move and you’ll have access to top-notch events like the Santa Barbara French Festival and Old Spanish Days, plus you’ll get to meet many wonderful people along the way. Just keep the duels to a minimum.

Parks and Beaches

You’re not going to go through all the trouble of boxing up your entire collection of Mr. T memorabilia and driving halfway across the country just to sit in your apartment and trim your mohawk all day, are you? You’ll have no excuse to spend your weekends buying overly large gold chains once you see all the beautiful parks and beaches Santa Barbara has to offer. Whether you’re up for a relaxing walk or a grueling game of tennis, you’ll find something to enjoy at one of the city’s 57 parks. Take advantage of the city’s Riviera status and hit up one of its beautiful beaches, like East Beach. Rollerblade, play a game of volleyball with your new friends, or just veg out and enjoy the sunny weather. Whatever recreation you’re up for, you can pursue it at one of the city’s great parks or beaches. Rent one of these beautiful apartments and have a great time. You’ll pity the fools back home.

  • How much should I expect to pay for utilities in Santa Barbara each month, depending on the time of year?

Utilities won't change too drastically from season to season because of the temperate climate in Santa Barbara. A family of three should expect to pay $300+ per month. Keep in mind that you pay for trash and sewage directly here as a utility. This depends upon your proximity to the coast, your family size and the size of your home. As a general rule, people who live in coastal or near-coastal cities tend to pay less for cooling than do those who live more inland. Heating expenses are usually not much of an issue since there are few months when you really need to turn on the furnace; and then, it's typically at night.
