Kentucky's 2nd Larges

Mall St. Matthews originally opened in 1962, but it has gone through a lot of growth and renovation since then. Today, the mall includes just over one million square feet of retail area. This makes it the state of Kentucky's second largest shopping mall. Currently, Mall St. Matthews has 130 stores and four anchor stores: two Dillard's stores, JCPenney, and Forever 21. The mall carries basically everything you could ever want, from shoes to technology. It also features over 20 restaurants and eateries. Mall St. Matthews newest and most popular feature, however, is the 10-screen Cinemark multiplex that opened in 2013.

Community Park

Whether you love the thrill of competing in a summer softball league or simply enjoy shooting some hoops during your free time, Community Park is the place for you. Located in the heart of St. Matthews, Community Park offers over 45 acres of outdoor fun. It is most popular for being home to the St. Matthews Baseball and Softball League, with multiple ball fields and batting cages. You will find basketball courts and tennis courts as well. For taking a break after the game, there are also picnic pavilions complete with charcoal grills. The park is open from dawn to dusk every day.

Halloween in Brown Pa

St. Matthews is committed to making sure that every child can have a safe and fun Halloween. So, each October on the last Saturday before Halloween, it hosts Halloween in Brown Park. This festival is completely free to all members of the public and is a great way for families to come together and get in the spooky Halloween spirit. Children are encouraged to come in costume, bring a bucket, and enjoy a safe trick-or-treating environment. There are also endless opportunities for some seasonal entertainment, so bring your kids out to enjoy some hayrides, a petting zoo, and lots of other Halloween games.
