Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington, located Having a fairly low population density and few families with younger children and college students, the city tends to be quiet. A full 29 percent of the population falls between the ages of 35 and 54, 20 percent is 55 or over, and 23 percent is under the age of 18. That leaves 27 percent between the ages of 18 and 34. Still, it's not the worst place for young people as long as they aren't seeking a bustling metrolopolis with a plethora of after-dark options; Pontiac can suit a rest-and-relaxation-seeking younger person perfectly.
