The museum contains the largest history collection in the state with over 7,500 items, including photographs, documents, and films. Over 3,000 catalogued plant specimens are also featured inside the museum, making it one of the most comprehensive in the state. With displays that tell the story of the Umpqua River Valley, you will experience a fun learning adventure. Be sure to check the museum’s schedule to catch some of the different educational and children’s programs that take place throughout the year.

Delightful Art

Fans of art will be delighted with the galleries found in Roseburg. The Umpqua Valley Arts Center and Gift Gallery is located in the Old Soldiers Home, which was restored to reflect its original look. The gallery is home to the works of local and regional artists, with different art genres on display. A walk through this facility will allow you an up close view of paintings, sculptures, and statues. Before leaving, be sure to visit the gift shop to take a piece of your trip home with you.

A Love for Fine Wine

Winemaking is a large part of Roseburg and you can experience this by visiting one of the many wineries in the area. A trip to the Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards will provide you with many memories and allow you to taste some of the area’s finest wines. This grand winery has won several awards, including the 2010 Small Winery of the Year Award from the Riverside International Wine Company. The most unique feature of this facility is the wine tasting cave. The cave is one of a kind and houses oak barrels and delicious wines.
