Sonoma State Universi

Located on the eastern edge of Rohnert Park is the campus of Sonoma State University. This university is one of 23 campuses spread across the West Coast for the California State University system. While it may be one of the smallest, it still offers more than 90 bachelor’s degree programs, 19 master’s degree programs, and 11 teaching credentials. Not too shabby for a school of approximately 8,500 students. Expansions and donations have kept this school on the cutting edge, and completion of facilities such as the Green Music Center, a new student center, and renovated halls keep students happy and money flowing in.

Crane Creek Regional

A great way to spend a weekend afternoon is to grab some fit friends and head to Crane Creed Regional Park, part of the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department. This 128-acre green space located next to Sonoma State University is ideal for hiking, biking, or just taking a casual stroll through the beautiful rolling hills of Sonoma County. There are even loop trails that are great for horseback riding if you fancy the equestrian style of recreation. Some of the more notable trails are Hawk Ridge, Lupine, Poppy, and Sunset, all with their own unique viewpoints and scenery.
