Moving In

Rental rates in Rincon are some of the lowest around. The trouble is that there aren't too many apartments that open up every year. Renters will need to be vigilant so that they don't miss the opening to move into this town. Take a look at the chart above to see what apartments are currently renting for in Rincon. If you’re itching to start your search, you can begin with some of the hot rentals listed below.

A Giving Town

One of the things that sets Rincon apart from other small towns in the area is that the people who live here care deeply about both their town and one another. This town takes community to a new level. Living in Rincon is like living in a large family and just as in a family, you can count on the people of Rincon to come to your aide. Whatever unexpected needs may arise, Rincon has an organization devoted to helping people through their times of trouble. If everything is going well for you at the moment, volunteering some time to help others out is a great way to give to your community and get to know your new neighbors. Volunteer work isn't something people in Rincon do because they need the credits to graduate or because they feel obliged to help out once a year. No, volunteering is a way of life in this town, which may be one of the reasons why the people of Rincon are so happy.

A Playful Town

Renters who like to get outside and enjoy the fresh air will get plenty of it living in Rincon. The city is home to walking trails, parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and picnic areas (which fill up on warm summer evenings). Just outside of town, renters can enjoy exploring the state parks and preserves which are great for camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and wildlife watching. Looking to get junior involved in a sport? Rincon organizes a number of sports leagues for kids and teens. Though there aren't any organized adult leagues in town, renters who would like to get in on the game won't have to twist the arms of their neighbors to convince them to head down to the park for a friendly game of soccer or softball. And just because the city doesn't organize adult leagues now doesn't mean that a few sporty newcomers couldn't start things up. This is a town built by and for its residents and one that encourages community involvement. So, if you’re looking for it, build it… and they will come!

Beauty and Joy

People in Rincon really do have a good thing going. This town seems to have that indefinable quality that makes residents more satisfied with their lives, friendlier with their neighbors and generally happier. No, it's not something that the city counsel puts in the water, it's that life is just better when you're surrounded by so much beauty and joy. Renters won't have to worry about struggling to meet people when they come into town, either. Unlike some towns, where you have to go out of your way to meet new people and make new friends, in Rincon, you'll be beating off the neighbors from the moment you drop that first box in the living room. Don't really, though. Let those friendly folks show you a good time in your new hometown. The happiness is bound to rub off!

Map & Local Information

Local Talk

Get answers about Rincon from local experts or tell us what you love about it.

  • Is Rincon a town where I'll need a car to get around?

Yes. As a very small city, Rincon is neither large nor dense enough to support a viable public transportation system. Being a small enough town in terms of area, it's possible to walk and bike to certain places, but the roads are rural and not terribly conducive to this type of transportation. In addition, hot summers and cool winters can make non-car transportation unpleasant. All of these factors make for a very car-oriented town.

  • Are there local sporting events in Rincon?

Rincon doesn't offer much in the way of local sporting events. Nearby Savannah, however, does. Located 30 minutes southeast of Rincon, Savannah is home to several professional sports teams, including the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League, who play at Grayson Stadium. Savannah is also home to two basketball teams: the Savannah Wildcats of the Continental Basketball League and the Savannah Storm of the American Basketball Association.

  • Does Rincon have a good school system?

Yes, Rincon's school system is quite good. Most students attend the Effingham County School District, which serves the communities of Guyton and and Springfield in addition to Rincon. Of its thirteen schools, the Effingham County School District consists of eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. It was rated 7 out of 10 based on test scores.
