Although Raytown is not quite the booming metropolis of Kansas City, it has a fantastic educational system. The city has made a commitment to top quality education. In addition to the 10 elementary schools, three middle schools, and one high school, Raytown also offers an alternative school, early childhood services, a school for multiple handicapped students, and a vocational school. Additionally, there are five private and parochial schools that serve the community. For higher education, there are a number of colleges and universities that all have campuses located nearby, including Metropolitan Community College-Longview, the University of Missouri, Avila University, or the DeVry Institute of Technology.

For the Raytown NASCAR fans, the Kansas Speedway is located minutes away in Kansas City. The speedway has races all throughout the NASCAR season, and for true die-hard fans, the track even offers season tickets.
