Breathtaking Historic

You will not want to miss two fantastic historical landmarks located right near Rapid City. One of these is the world famous Mount Rushmore, which is only 30 minutes away in Keystone, South Dakota. Mount Rushmore was sculpted between 1934 and 1939 and depicts the faces of four famous United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. You also will not want to miss the famous Crazy Horse Memorial located in Black Hills. A little over an hour away, it is well worth the trip to see Oglala Lakota warrior, Crazy Horse, riding a horse and pointing into the distance.

Your Health is in Goo

Everyone wants to be as healthy as possible and Rapid City makes it easy to do just that. Rapid City acts as a major medical base for a five state region centered around the Rapid City Regional Hospital and the Indian Health Service's Sioux San Hospital. Regardless of the procedure, big or small, these hospitals can handle it. For your everyday care, there are a number of different medical facilities in town. If you need a specialist, you can find those too. From The Spine Center at Rapid City to the Black Hills Eye Institute, Rapid City has it all to keep you in health.

Expand Your Cultural

If you are tired of visiting the historical sites in the area, take some time to check out all of the cultural resources that Rapid City has to offer. One of the most unique attractions in the town is "The City of Presidents". These life-sized bronze statues depict each of the American presidents. You can find them located on various street corners throughout the downtown area. If music is more your style, check out the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra or the Black Hills Chamber Orchestra. Theater buffs will enjoy the Black Hills Playhouse and the Storybrook Island Theater.
