You will not want to miss two fantastic historical landmarks located right near Rapid City. One of these is the world famous Mount Rushmore, which is only 30 minutes away in Keystone, South Dakota. Mount Rushmore was sculpted between 1934 and 1939 and depicts the faces of four famous United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. You also will not want to miss the famous Crazy Horse Memorial located in Black Hills. A little over an hour away, it is well worth the trip to see Oglala Lakota warrior, Crazy Horse, riding a horse and pointing into the distance.
