North Carolina Turkey

Prepare yourself for a week of fun as you attend the North Carolina Turkey Festival. Held annually near the beginning of fall, this event brings children and adults alike from Raeford and all around the region to this fantastic festival. Enjoy live music, a parade, tennis tournaments, 5-kilometer run, cooking contest, and of course and turkey dinner. There is even a wrestling event, called the turkey throwdown. Bring the grandparents to enjoy Senior Day, with bingo, a boxed lunch, and a cooking demonstration for healthy food. There are also plenty of activities for the children as well.

Carolina Horse Park

Horse lovers rejoice at the Carolina Horse Park. This 250-acre equestrian paradise is national recognized as a horse competition venue. It also hosts non-horse activities as well, such as cross-country runs, country festivals, dog shows, Boy Scout meets, and much more. If you have a horse of your own, come bring it down to the Carolina Horse Park, where you know it will be in good hands in their stabling facilities. Enjoy a show as you want championship horses go through derby field and cross-country courses. Both you and your equestrian friend can benefit from their schooling opportunities.

You and your party are in for a real treat when you sit down for a meal at the Mill at Puppy Creek. Like the name implies, the restaurant sits on a creek that runs close to the old mill ruins. Witness the delightful animals that run through the creek as well as the stunning waterfall, all while you enjoy a delicious meal.
