A Little Prince George Drama

There may not be any theaters or museums in the town of Prince George, but the county offers plenty of places to go and appreciate the arts. Sycamore Rouge, a theater in the nearby city of Petersburg, puts on over two hundred shows a year. Nary a weekend goes by without a new theatrical production, musical performance, dance show or classic film screening at the Sycamore Rouge. A handful of other local theaters give renters from Prince George a few choices when it comes to nighttime entertainment. The trouble, when it comes to live theater in this area, is deciding which show to see first.

Living History Lesson

Virginia was one of the first states to be settled by brave European explorers. As a result, there are hundreds of years worth of American history in the town of Prince George. History buffs will love exploring the colonial, Civil War, and agricultural history in the area. One of the most popular periods to explore is the Civil War. This part of the state was contested for much of the war and there are still a number of battlefields in the area that have been well preserved. Museums throughout the county are also there to help fill in the gaps that the long ago American history classes left in the minds of renters from Prince George.
