Potomac Day

Watch the streets of Potomac really come alive on Potomac Day, the city's most anticipated event of the year. For over 30 years, Potomac Day has allowed citizens to celebrate their local community. The annual grand parade is the highlight of the day and features high school bands, local businesses, and the Potomac Citizen of the Year. If you attend, make sure to stick around after the parade. The Potomac Promenade parking lot becomes a fair ground rich with activities for both children and adults. From a petting zoo to a classic car show, everyone will enjoy spending the day in Potomac.

Shop Around at Potoma

With over 50 stores in one beautiful location, the Potomac Village Shopping Center is the place to be. This upscale outdoor shopping center is conveniently located at the intersection of Falls Road and River Road, making it easy to get to by car. Also, with its great layout, it makes it easy to simply run into one store and get what you need, or spend a day browsing each of the unique shops. And when you work up an appetite from shopping all day, you can simply stop into one of Potomac Village's restaurants or cafes.

Great Falls Park

Along the south side of town runs the mighty Potomac River, which is actually one of the nation's first canals. It also has three falls that make up the Great Falls of the Potomac. When you are in the mood for a walk or just want to take in the scenery, Great Falls Park is an ideal place to visit. The park straddles the border of Maryland and Virginia, with its north side in Potomac, Maryland and the south side in McLean, Virginia. Open from dawn to dusk everyday, it is a perfect place to take a daily jog or enjoy a picnic on the weekend with family.
