Parks and Programs

They don’t call Port Saint Lucie “Park St. Lucie” for its ample number of parking spaces (not that there aren’t plenty of them). Port Saint Lucie earned its unique nickname for the plentitude of parks and recreational facilities found throughout the city. Rotary Park, for one, has a basketball court, a volleyball net, horseshoes, a baseball field, and much more; you’ll be an all-around athlete in no time (or, at the very least, a well-meaning klutz giving it his all). Should you wish to pump up for your next game, be sure to visit Port St. Lucie Fitness Center, where you can use the “latest high-tech exercise equipment.” You can also take on a Port Saint Lucie neighbor in a grueling game of racquetball. Should you defeat said neighbor so badly that he runs away crying, you can make new friends and tone your body in one of the fitness center’s many great classes, such as boot camp or spin. Whatever your recreational thrill, you’ll have a good time in Port Saint Lucie. If you don’t find the best parking spot at the fitness center, just think of the extra mileage as more calories burned.

Arts of All Kinds

You’re not going to move to a wonderful city like Port Saint Lucie and spend all day in your apartment listening to Run DMC, are you? Lucky for you, Port Saint Lucie provides residents with great cultural events throughout the year. The city’s main entertainment venue is the Civic Center. Whether you’re in the mood for Latin dance or a movie, you’ll have a great time at the Civic Center. You might just catch the next great hip-hop act at one of the city’s monthly City Fest events. Groove to beats while you mingle with Port Saint Lucie residents. If visual arts are more your thing, enjoy a glass of wine and local art at one of the city’s regular artist receptions.
