As a Tampa Bay suburb we can all assume the residents of Pinellas Park are big Buccaneers fans, at least if they follow football. For those that don't, there are, fortunately, other ways to feel a part of this community. There's the Citizens Police Academy for example. And yes, it is actually as awesome as it sounds. The academy invites residents to meet one of those cute K-9 dogs, ride a police horse, and even make a traffic stop; essentially everything but become a bona fide cop. (Darn!)

If you’re into horses, join the Equestrian Board. (Tip: if you felt a tickle in your toes when we mentioned those police horses, you probably are.) They aren't messing around, people.

But if neither football, cops, nor horses do it for you, then how about the town's public library? Join the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative and get in on all kinds of cool programs. From reading clubs and story times to films and lectures, you’ll find lots to do here in Pinellas Park, thanks to the public library.

The city is known for its series of community events held every year by City Hall. The big one is Country in the Park. This raucous good time caters to, you guessed it, a largely country music crowd. Oh, and it's free! So, yeah. It’s one heckuva popular staple of this west Florida hot spot.

This place invites you to step back to the good ‘ol days (they’ve been around since the fifties, so it’s legit) and enjoy some good grub at great prices.

For something on the more sophisticated end of the gastrointestinal spectrum, yet still meaty, dig into the offerings available at Terra Mar Brazilian Steakhouse and get a real taste of South America. They've got 10 different kinds of buffets (pretty astonishing when you realize that a single buffet is already host to lots of different goodies) and 10 different kinds of salads, but the real crown jewel in their menu is the… MEAT. Top sirloin, garlic steak, beef tenderloin, and even chicken breast wrapped in bacon is yours for the taking. If you can handle it. Can you?
