International Circus

Peru boasts the nickname "Circus Capital of the World." The city proudly embraces its history as the winter grounds for seven famous circuses. On those old winter grounds now resides the International Circus Hall of Fame (ICHF), which enshrines the most famous circus players ever. In addition, the ICHF, which is one of 55 National Historic Landmarks in Indiana, provides daily concerts and performances for visitors. This unique hall of fame, which inducts new members every year, provides a fascinating historical glimpse into the development and highlights of circus culture and serves as the site of a big-top circus every summer.

Ole Olsen Memorial Th

The nonprofit Ole Olsen Memorial Theatre encourages interest in the theatre while preserving the memory and spirit of Vaudeville comedian Ole Olsen. The theatre, founded in 1964, has as its motto Olsen's famous quote, "May you live as long as you laugh, and laugh as long as you live." In keeping with Olsen's legacy of comedy, the theater puts on four productions a year that embrace humor and music, such as "Arsenic and Old Lace." The theater offers a fun and relaxing outlet for anyone wishing to get a taste of Vaudeville and a glimpse into the type of entertainment the theater arts can provide.
