Park Forest Community

Park Forest is home to over 2,000 acres in parks and recreation facilities. Locals love to get out and enjoy every acre as much as possible and by doing so they promote healthy living throughout their community. The park department has set up several playgrounds, ice rinks for winter, tennis courts, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and many other sporting activities for Park Forest. You will find various locations for picnicking, biking, hiking, and more. Children can join one of the many sports teams throughout the year that brings the community together through games, fundraising, and an overall sense of sportsmanship.

Head Back to the 1950

The 1950s brings up memories of bygone and carefree years for many people when the world was not quite as complicated as it is today. Forest Park understands this nostalgic feeling and offers The 1950s Park Forest Museum where locals can go to enjoy memorabilia and history from that world-changing era that brought us all rock 'n roll. The museum hosts and recreates historic events and traditions from during the 1950s, including a 1950s Christmas scene. While the museum may be a little off the beaten path for some, others enjoy the rich history it brings to the community.

Main Street Summer Ni

Each summer, Park Forest hosts its annual Main Street Nights, which brings the community together eight different nights by providing free entertainment, rain or shine. Locals grab their blankets, favorite snacks, and head downtown to the Park Forest Downtown Village Green. Each night provides a different type of entertainment, which changes from year to year to keep people interested and coming back annually. Come on down for a great way to get out and support your community, as well enjoy all Main Street has to offer with your family and friends. There is never a dull moment in downtown Park Forest.
