So Much to Do, So Little Time
Endless excitement? Check. Beautiful beaches? Check. Fun, friendly folks? Check, again. If you're looking for an apartment in a city that knows how to have a good time, you might be looking for a place in Palm Bay, Florida. This city of around 100,000 people is located on Florida's Space Coast. In town, renters will find countless restaurants, shops and places to go for a little late-night entertainment. There are also beaches on the east side of town and marshland on the west. So whether you like surfing the waves or canoeing among the reeds, like looking for manatees or alligators, or whether you're fishing for catfish or sharks, Palm Bay has you covered.
Out and About
If you love nature, you’ll certainly have no shortage of things to do and see around your new apartment. Though this city is far from the famous Everglades National Park, Palm Bay is close to vast wetland areas, including the 52,000 acre Three Forks Conservation Area. This preserve is a great place to view river otters splashing and playing and alligators basking in the sun on the shore. There's also camping, fishing, boating and seasonal hunting at the park. If you decide to brave the swampland in a campground overnight, just be sure to bring a powerful flashlight so you don't accidentally trod on any gators on a midnight run to the bathroom!
If the swampland isn't your thing, there’s always the Atlantic Ocean at your doorstep. On the beaches, you can swim, surf, stroll along the shore, or join up with some friends for a game of volleyball. If you're looking for a little more excitement on your day at the beach there are jet skis to rent on some beaches and parasailing rides at others. Sailing and fishing charter boats also zip out to sea from the city a few times a day.
Feeling Sporty?
Many of the folks who live in the area love their sports. There may not be any big league sports teams around, but there is a local minor league baseball team, the Manatees, that attracts thousands of fans for its spring training season. Though renters who live in town enjoy sitting back to watch the game, whether live at the Viera Stadium or on the big screen at one of the local sports bars, it's playing that really gets the people of this city worked up. Palm Bay organizes dozens of local teams and leagues in many different sports for its residents to enjoy. Tennis is one of the most popular sports in town but newcomers can easily join up with a league to play soccer, baseball, basketball, football, or volleyball as well. There's no off-season here. The mild year-round weather (with an average of temperature of 80 degrees in July and 60 in January) makes it easy to enjoy running around outside any time of the year.
Social Butterflies Welcome
Anyone who moves here will have to think long and hard about which festivals, concerts, celebrations, performances and parties they want to attend. There's simply no way to make it to all of them, not if you don't have a Time Turner to go back and do the last three hours over again. So much is going on in town every day that renters will never have an excuse to feel bored. In order to keep up with all the fun going on in town, you'll want to make sure you check the local paper frequently. If you're open to whatever the evening may bring, all you have to do is head downtown. There's sure to be something going on in Palm Bay at one of the many restaurants, bars, clubs, music venues and theaters. And with so many fun, outrageous people around, as long as you're willing to make an adventure of it, you're sure to have a blast living here in your fantastic new apartment.

Situated on Florida's east coast, it's no surprise that the local favorite food around Palm Bay is fresh seafood of all varieties. The Shack Seafood Restaurant, located along the riverfront on Dixie Highway Northeast, has been a Melbourne area institution for decades. The interiors are warm and comfortable, showcasing artwork of local artists. Or you can sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy the fresh ocean breezes. The prices are reasonable so head over and enjoy a blackened fish sandwich with a side of The Shack's to-die-for clam chowder. And be sure to top it off with a slice of their mouth-watering peanut butter pie.
